What is normal anyway? I'm not sure anymore!
The last 2 months have been crazy, stressful, overwhelming, physically and emotionally exhausting, and depressing for some. I'm more than ready to put this period of my life behind me and move forward. And I believe we are headed in that direction. On a much more positive note....Curtis started driving again yesterday. Hooray! He started putting weight on his ankle and is getting around pretty darn good now! Hooray again! Other than some new aches and pains that have been occurring, he seems to be on the mend. He had a trip to the ER that ruled out appendicitis, more blood clots, hernia, etc. Just a pain that he'll have to deal with until it goes away!
Like I said, June has been crazy and when I say crazy, I mean crazy busy! There were days I would be in my car from the minute I woke up until the minute I went to bed. Look inside my car for proof! It literally looks like I lived in it.
June consisted of the following:
weekly doctor visits for Curtis
physical therapy twice a week for Curtis
taking Curtis to and from work twice a week
soccer practices for Stockton
soccer games for Stockton
soccer practices for Emma
soccer games for Emma (happy it's finally over, whew!)
basketball games for Fischer
basketball practices for Fischer
basketball games for Mitchell
basketball practices for Mitchell
taking kids to and from friends houses
lots of family dinner/get togethers
etc.
etc.
etc.
You get the picture.
When I wasn't doing any of the above, I was picking kids up from Lagoon, grocery shopping, getting prescriptions filled, trying to figure out how to use the lawn trimmer, air compressor, starring at piles and piles of laundry, mopping my floor at midnight, waiting up for my kids playing night games in the neighborhood, cleaning out the garage because it's too embarrassing for the neighbors to see, paying bills, eating out because I'm too tired to cook, and the list goes on but this is now the longest sentence that ever existed. It's actually a paragraph all in one sentence. Sheesh!
Oh and 5 out of 7 people had strep throat...in JUNE!
The reality is, I really don't have it that bad! It could be much much worse, this I know. All around me others are going through a much tougher struggle. I've realized that I am just weak. Being the mom is great! But being the mom and the dad...not so great! I would never survive being a single parent. Kuddos to those that tackle that role everyday.
Speaking of not being single, yesterday was mine and Curtis' 15th wedding anniversary! Crazy to think about! Curtis celebrated by driving himself to work. I celebrated by going to see Eclipse! Maybe we can have a real celebration another day another time. But 15 years is a great accomplishment nonetheless and certainly something worth celebrating and being proud of! Thanks for a great 15 years
I did get together with my 3 BFF's from high school last week which is always fun! We don't see each other often enough. I love each of them more than I did back in the day. They are so inspiring to me. Each of them are so strong and such amazing women. Some are physically strong and run marathons. Some are mentally and spiritually strong and have gone through hardships like the death of children and cancer. All three are even more beautiful than they were in high school! I love seeing them and catching up on life with them.
And of course I have to mention two things that make me really happy! My sister-in-law Liz is pregnant! I am so excited I can hardly stand it. She will be the cutest pregnant girl in town and the best mommy ever. Yay! Second, my little brother Jordan is finally getting married in October and he just bought a cute little house right down the road from me. It will be so fun to have him and Meghan so close!
Goodbye June. Hello July!
Hope all is well my friends!
